Welcome to Magenta ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the Magenta mobile application.

Information We Collect

Photos

When you use Magenta to analyze your colors, you may take or select photos from your device. These photos are processed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party services.

Face Data

Magenta uses Apple's Vision framework to detect facial features (such as the position of cheeks, forehead, jaw, and eyes) in photos you provide. This face data is used solely to identify skin regions for color analysis.

Face Data — Collection

When you run a color analysis, Magenta detects facial landmark positions (cheek, forehead, jaw, and eye regions) using Apple's on-device Vision framework. These landmarks are used to locate skin areas in the photo for color sampling.

Face Data — Retention

Magenta does not retain face data. Face data is not stored on disk, not saved to any database, and not written to any persistent storage. Face data exists only in temporary memory for the duration of a single analysis session (typically under 30 seconds) and is automatically discarded when the analysis completes. We do not store face data for any length of time because there is no reason to retain it — it is only needed during the brief moment of analysis.

Face Data — Use

Face data is used for one purpose only: to identify the locations of skin, hair, and eyes in your photo so the app can extract color values and determine your seasonal color palette. Face data is not used for facial recognition, identification, tracking, advertising, or any other purpose.

Face Data — Third-Party Sharing

Magenta does not share face data with any third parties. All face detection and color analysis runs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Vision framework. No face data is sent to our servers, third-party servers, cloud services, or any external APIs. Because no face data is shared with third parties, no third parties store, process, or have access to your face data.

Color Analysis Results

The color palette results generated by the app are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your analysis results.

Analytics and Crash Data

We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics data to help us improve the app. This data does not identify you personally and may include:

• App usage statistics (features used, session duration)
• Device type and operating system version
• Crash reports and error logs

How We Use Your Information

Since we don't collect personal information, there's very little to explain here. Any anonymous analytics we collect are used solely to:

• Improve app performance and stability
• Understand which features are most useful
• Fix bugs and technical issues

Data Storage and Security

All your data, including photos you analyze and your color palette results, remains on your device. We use industry-standard security practices to protect any anonymous analytics data we do collect.

Third-Party Services

Magenta does not send your photos, face data, or analysis results to any third-party AI services, cloud APIs, or external servers. All analysis is performed entirely on your device.

Magenta may use the following third-party services:

• Apple's Vision framework: For on-device face detection (no data leaves your device)
• Analytics services: For anonymous app usage statistics

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Children's Privacy

Magenta is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Your Rights

Since we don't store your personal data, there's nothing for you to request deletion of. However, you can:

• Delete the app at any time to remove all locally stored data
• Clear the app's data through your device settings
• Opt out of analytics through your device's privacy settings

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
